The samples with positive enrichment for the CIN signature significantly upregulate gene signatures of activated PI3K-mTOR signaling. mTOR is an important modulator of metabolism and can be inhibited by rapamycin. The targets of mTOR are also upregulated in the same tumors. Hence, this dependence on mTOR could be exploited therapeutically.
