The molecular classification by Hoadley et al. is largely consistent with histotyping as a molecular class contains cases from only 1.5 histotypes on average. Ciriello et al. shows 2.5 histotypes per molecular class, whereas the classifications based on Heim et al. and genetic complexity reduction are substantially more distinct from histotyping as a molecular class is comprised of cases of 5.4 respectively 10.75 different histological tumor types
