Sustained subconfluent culture results in widespread changes in the expression of genes involved in TGFβ signaling. One hundred and fourteen genes whose products are involved in TGFβ signaling were identified following a survey of curated pathways and the literature. Shown are those genes with a two-fold or greater difference in expression as a function of passage and a P value ≤0.05 (one-way ANOVA, n = 3) at any of the four time points, as determined by microarray analysis.
