Identification of proteins characteristic of cross-cancer effects. Four out of the 12 studied actionable genes were found to have cross-cancer effects on the level of available protein profiles (compare Fig. 5). Proteins were evaluated for their role in discriminating between wild-type and mutated actionable genes. Bold border outlines indicate statistically significantly characteristic proteins for the given histological tumor type (rows). Brackets indicate the pairs of histological tumor types for which the actionable mutations show the same directional effects (indicated by an overlap of characteristic proteins with same directional change).
